The filter resets itself. What gets me plum mad is that Arena.Net is allowed to name their characters "Damned Clerics" but I'm not allowed to use "damn". ("Get those ----ed clerics!" "whoa, chill out, dude, it's just a game.")

I'm kind of miffed at how unfriendly the Tomb of Primeval Kings is. The tomb is like being thrown into the deep end of the pool with no sea legs. PvP is all random teams, easygoing, leisurely play until you hit HoH, where all the players are grumpy and hostile and deliberately answer your questions wrong because they think you're a stupid newb. Add to that, you're jumping into play I have yet to see good documentation in the manual about but you're expected to perform against hardcore American players or Korean net cafe teams. That's a recipe for imminent beatdown.

Are you sure that it resets? Cause I haven't seen any censor markings since I put the thing on none on the first day I got it.

The manual is absolutely useless, and tooltips aren't much better. Really, it doesn't look like they tried very hard to explain the logic of the game and, given the crafting system, anyone who's new to it either has to stuff around to figure it out (god, the amount of travelling I had to do just to get 1 steel ingot!) or ask other players and hope someone explains it to u properly (a lot of people don't seem to know what they're doing ATM).

I just found my first Rune in some armour but, cause I didn't know I needed to use an advanced salvage kit, I lost it. Still don't even know whether it was for my class or not, and I never will by the looks of it.

The interface is lacking - can't see guild member levels/classes etc.

Basically, it looks like they counted on most players having beta tested this game, or being keen enough to scour the forums, or being Korean. If you're none of these things, the game does little to illuminate you on the mechanics of play.

The entire PVE portion of the game annoys me. It's really, terrible, boring gaming. I've already sunk 20+ hours into the PVE portion, just to get those skills unlocked for my Warrior/Necro. And now I have to play another 40 hours to get the other 4 professions' skills loaded up. Argh.

I don't think the dev team made the right decision in doing things this way. I find the PVE mode to be almost torture-like. But I must Endure Pain to get those skills.

edit: the manual is terrible, agreed. Waste of paper and ink. They put a lot of work into the manual to make it spiffy looking, too bad it's useless. The official site seems to indicate that the Online Manual will hold all the knowledge you need eventually. Maybe the dev team wants to be able to change game rules without having to worry about outdated manual descriptions. Or, maybe the dev team wants to make sure everyone buys that Prima guide.

Hmm... What annoys me about Guild Wars? Not much so far.

1.) The raping of the English language. This has been mentioned before, and I fully agree with it. Unless it's a case of being aggroed by a bunch of MOBs and being unable to take the time to type properly, there is absolutely no reason to use idiotic "txt spk", especially when idling in a city.

2.) People who cry nerf. I have yet to see a profession in this game that was "overpowered", and every skill/ability that I have come across so far has a counter in some other profession. The problem is not that the profession is overpowered, the problem is that your team lacks skill diversity and strategy.

3.) Being stuck to pre-made builds when creating a PvP character, unless already well progressed with a RP character. This isn't a big issue for me, though, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. I guess it's good encouragement to play my RP character more.

No kidding! I find the game to be great and i'm a natural complainer ... ok i'll get one in then.

No enough character slots Even if you unlock all the skills and want to just remake your characters for pvp, then you can't get access to the best armor with the custom mades, which makes them worthless IMO. Oh well... guess i'll just have to live with 4 RP characters.

Two things really eat at me about this game:

1 The hoarding of Sigils by those that happen to win in Hall of Heros, it effectively removes an aspect of the game for many others. If it served a purpose I'd buy into it I guess but it's just greed, selfishness and vanity that drive the warped mindset of "ONLY PvP ONLY Guilds should have a guild hall".
If that was true and that was what the Developers had intended then there would be NO other way to obtain one.

2 The spam that goes on OUTSIDE the Trade channel, if you need to sell, buy and or trade something there is a channel set up ALL by itself for that business. Why do the rest of us have to endure your preceived "emergency" need to sell or buy something SO important that you have to announce it everywhere at every oportunity.

I hate how a lot of items don't seem all that special. Not to many options for armor. And people who complain about grammer.

The elite skill system...I mean, some still have not been found lol...I would rather buy them from a skill vendor at an outrageous price then hunt around in explorable areas for Shield of Judgement and such for hours and come out empty handed. *cough*grind*cough*

..The casual gamer comment from arenanet did not mean: "Everything will be found within a week."

A few people do not seem to understand this difference.

An online game with no grind whatsoever would be ridiculous, however Guild Wars manages to maintain a healthy balance, unlike some other major mmorpgs. (Please, no arguments about whether guild wars is an mmorpg or not.)

I dislike the lack of customisation on the armour sets, sure you can colour them..but how about a system like the guild capes for higher level armour?

It would stop a warrior from looking like a slightly recoloured version of the character beside him.

Either.
A, you didn't take a big enough party,
B, you a trying to kill something beyond your power,
C, You have no mana left to cast spells,
D, you seriously need to adjust your skill selection.
A - My party was maxed out
B - 2 Level 7's versus a level 13
C - I had nearly full ENERGY
D - It works every other time on the same 2 monsters, usually on 4 at once.

Healing Randomness is the problem. As long as I keep attacking the healing bastard, he cannot heal the others. I am mostly talking about the charr mobs. They are brutal and heal themselves. Some of those creature's health bars also see to go up titanically on their own, WITHOUT a heal thing. It's annoying as hell..,

Your first one is a cross post. You started a thread about it already.

As far as the spam thing, I just learned (from reading posts here LOL) how to turn off local chat. If someone NEEDS me, they can guild chat me, or PM me, otherwise, I never see all that crap.

Dieing time after time becuase I CAN NOT MOVE when i'm attacked. So i have some thing attacking WHY CAN I NOT RUN AWAY. Aslo different sets of the SAME type of monsters seem to be MORE diffcult than others. Esp char sometimes i can take on 10 of them and its easy, other times 3 of them kill my party of 4 or 6

Against my own best intrest, I'll give you the SIMPLE way of stopping those oh-so-annoying healing monsters. Even if there are five of them. Charr are some of the easiest to take care of, and apply to the same rule as anything else.

In the northern shiverpeaks, for example, in some instances you will encounter up to five dolyaks at one point. Dolyaks cannot heal themselves, but will heal other creatures at the point of about 50-75% health. So how do you stop five of them? It's simple. Interruption.

As has been said before, you seriously need to take a look at your skills if you cant take healers, because you're just going to encounter even harsher combinations later on.

Interrupt. Interrupt. Interrupt. Watch the bar of their health, just below it you are shown when they begin to cast a healing spell. Use your interrupt and kill them when you have the chance. If they try again, interrupt again.

Back to the example: This takes a slight bit of coordination. The first thing you absolutely must do is concentrate your heaviest fire on one of the healing creatures. And I do mean heaviest. DOTs are your friend here, as are AOEs. WHILE this is occuring, your interrupter, in whatever form they come, MUST be watching the other healing creatures. If they interrupt EVEN ONE spell, you have the advantage and can kill the creature rather quickly.

Sorry for the editing: Accidentally forgot a part and then deleted another ;D

One thing that annoys me is that lag + trying to intrupt quick spells like healing is impossible to some extent. Also my horrible luck with drops. I've gotten more axes/bows then anything caster related.

I do feel that healing needs to be somewhat reduced in importence both with players and with mobs. It really sucks how certain monsters can go on forever due to one healing spell. I think besides that I'm pretty much happy with Guild wars

That Ashes mission outside of Pikens, better have 30 minutes-1 hour of time to spend, I've gone back with my Lvl 14 Mo/W with 3 henchmen and still get my ass kicked by the scorpions. Otherwise I have no other complaints about the game. The 5 years of development really shows here.
